For Grandpa Rezo

67-year-old Revaz Bochorishvili became one of the memorable faces of the 2019 protest. If you attended the “Shame movement” rally at least once, you would have noticed a person standing on the steps of the parliament, proudly, tirelessly, and stubbornly waving the flags of Georgia, the European Union, and NATO. He called young people to him and handed them the flags, saying they should become flag bearers of the future.

At the beginning of 2020, Rezo Babu was diagnosed with a malignant tumor of the larynx, and the first operation was performed in April. Over several years, his condition repeatedly worsened, and he needed urgent help. All this incurred enormous financial costs, and the family did not have the resources to cover them.

Therefore, to urgently raise funds for this loyal participant in our actions, we repeatedly appealed to the public. With the money collected together with the public, we tried to stand by Grandpa Rezo and his family.

Grandpa Rezo died on March 3, 2023. He believed in the idea of a free, integrated, and European Georgia and considered that serving the country was the duty of every patriot. He paid his debt on Rustaveli Avenue on April 9, June 20, and other important days for Georgia.

We promise Grandpa Rezo that the flag he raised will always fly with dignity and pride in a free Georgia.
